  • It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Cometti, a beloved and dedicated member of the West Perth Football Club family. Dennis passed away, leaving behind a legacy of passion, commitment, and professionalism that will never be forgotten.Dennis played 38 games and kicked 70 goals across five seasons for WPFC from 1967–1971.His standout year came in 1968, when he dominated up forward with 63 goals from 20 games under club legend and coach Polly Farmer.While his on-field contribution was significant, Dennis became synonymous with Australian rules football through his remarkable broadcasting career. His wit, timing and iconic commentary elevated the game, etching his voice into AFL history with countless unforgettable calls across generations.Dennis Cometti’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was more than just a footballer—he was a mentor, a leader, and a dear friend to many.   • Our Futures Program have been going since December and seeing the group come together and being led by so many has showcased encouraging signs for the season ahead. With that said, the above lads received resounding votes to lead the program in 2026.The West Perth Football Club wishes to congratulate Alex Brown (Whitford JFC) voted in as Captain, Jonah Smallman (North Beach JFC) voted in as Vice-Captain, joined by Jed McGuane (Sorrento Duncraig), Theo Hall (North Beach JFC) and Caleb Richardson (Ocean Ridge JFC) in the Leadership Group.“I’m pleased the way this group has come together. They’re already putting in the work to lead those in their charge and are a big part of the future of our football club.” Luke Richardson, GM Performance Pathways & Participation.
