Delta Lithium Rogers Cup Round 10 Match Report

West Perth’s Rogers Cup side fell short in a hard-fought defensive battle on Friday night, dropping a highly contested match to ladder-leaders East Fremantle, WP 1.3 (9) to EF 3.8 (26).
The Falcons brought fierce intensity from the opening bounce, matching the top-of-the-ladder contenders in a brutal midfield war and keeping the Sharks to just one goal in the first term. West Perth’s backline stood incredibly tall under heavy pressure, completely suffocating the opposition in a scoreless second quarter to keep the game within reach at the main break. Ava Millar led the charge with an outstanding work rate through the engine room. Down back, Ella Molloy-Broughton and Tayah Grandland repeatedly repelled dangerous entries, while Isla Haughton provided the ultimate spark upfront by breaking through to boot the Falcons’ sole major of the match.
This high-pressure performance shows excellent development across our young squad as they prepare to go hard and attack the back end of the season
