Ferguson makes it three in a row | WPFC F&B Awards 2025

TAYLOR FERGUSON has gone back-to-back-to-back, claiming her third consecutive Women’s Club Champion Award at the West Perth Fairest & Best event last Saturday.

The 29-year-old capped off a stellar 2025 season, polling 34 votes to finish on top of the count.

Co-captain Emily Bennett and exciting youngster Hayley Bidefeld tied for runner-up with 31 votes apiece, while new recruit Madison Dodd rounded out the podium in third with 30 votes.

Ferguson’s dominance continues to grow, having now won three of the four medals since its inception in 2022, with only Megan Norbury (2022) breaking the streak. Operating primarily on the wing, “Fergy” was a constant ball-winner across her 15 appearances, averaging 17 disposals per game. She finished the season as the team’s leader in uncontested possessions, ranked second in total disposals and fourth in inside 50s.

Bennett had another outstanding campaign across half-back and through the midfield. Despite missing three games with injury, she averaged 10 contested possessions (2nd at the club), 5 tackles (3rd), 4 clearances (1st) and 7 ground-ball gets (2nd).

Sharing runner-up honours, Hayley Bidefeld shone in her debut WAFLW season after graduating from Rogers Cup, where she was the 2024 Fairest & Best. The dynamic midfielder/forward brought flair and pressure, kicking 6 goals, while also averaging 5 tackles (2nd) and 3 inside 50s (2nd) per game.

Meanwhile, Madison Dodd impressed in her first season in red and blue since arriving from Subiaco. At just 20 years of age, she played every game and stamped herself as a key midfielder, leading the team in several key areas. She averaged 18 disposals (1st), 11 uncontested possessions (1st) and 5 tackles (1st) across 2025, earning a deserved third place finish in the Fairest & Best count.
