Keitel claims second Breckler Medal | WPFC F&B Awards 2025
Author: West Perth FC
TYLER KEITEL is now a two-time Breckler winner, having been crowned the honour at Parmelia Hilton’s West Perth Fairest & Best event on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old was rewarded for a stellar 2025 campaign, finishing atop of the count with 116 votes.
Star midfielder Kane Bevan (115 votes) was runner-up, receiving the Jason Salecic Medal while third place was a tie between the furious Corey Rundle and goal sneak Jack Demarte (103 votes) claiming the Ken Ashdown Award.
Keitel’s recognition comes after a dominant and consistent year in the red and blue. A pillar of strength for the Falcons, his efforts saw him average 16 disposals, seven marks and slotting 52 goals across his 18 appearances.
TK led the competition in goals, totally 52 for the season however it came down to final round. South Freo’s Trey Ruscoe trailed him by one goal but kicked 7.7 against West Coast a couple of hours before our clash with East Freo. Needing 5 goals to win the Bernie Naylor Medal (BNM), TK had three goals to his name at quarter time and finished with 6 goals straight to achieve a 3rd consecutive BNM and 5th in his career. He also led the league in marks with 117 & score involvements with 126.
The ultimate professional, Keitel stood tall when skipper Luke Meadows went down with a foot injury in the first part of the season, taking over as captain for 12 of the 18 games during 2025.
Having won the award in 2019, this means TK goes into the history books as a dual Breckler medallist.
Bevan was recognised for another impressive campaign, backing up his Rookie of the Year award from 2024.
The 21-year-old midfielder averaged 23.3 disposals for the year and was rank 15th in contested possessions and 16th in inside 50’s in the competition.
Rundle and Demarte finished the vote count in a tie for third place. Rundy led the competition with 152 tackles for the season, averaging 4.2 in Inside 50’s and 9.8 in contested possessions (3rd in the team). JD had 19 goals for the season (3rd highest in the team) and 87 score involvements (4th).
