ONWARDS AND UPWARDS FOR THE FALCONS

Author: West Perth FC

Another pleasing result at the West Perth Football Club AGM held on Monday 9th December: a fifth straight surplus was recorded by the club. The Falcons recorded a profit before depreciation of $58,035.00, increasing revenue by 4.4% on the prior year. This growth was supported by a strong performance in gate receipts (up 41%) following successful collaboration with WAFL Wonderland and the Perth Football League finals.

This result marked another positive leap forward for the football club as Dr Neale Fong’s time as President came to an end after many years of service. Dr Fong was presented with life membership on the night by his great friend and colleague, former Vice President and club Patron Ross Kelly.

The Falcons further strengthened their balance sheet by repaying $104,220.00 to the WAFC, leaving the club officially debt free. The Falcons finished the 2024 financial year with $457,387.00 of cash and a working capital surplus of $299,416, providing a solid footing for the club moving into the 2025 season.

The night also saw current player and 2022 premiership player Luke Meadows awarded life membership, as well as 1969 and 1971 premiership player Bryan Pleitner. Looking ahead to 2025, former Vice President Jimmy Caffieri was appointed by the new board as the new President. Paul Cox and Richard Homsany were both re-elected, while Pia Drummond and Simon Devlin have been co-opted for Season 2025.

Overall, the club is now debt free and in a great position to have success both on and off the field in 2025.
