Author: West Perth FC
The West Perth Football Club proudly acknowledges and thanks Scott Kounis for his outstanding service and contribution to our Female Football Program, as he departs to explore new opportunities within the football world with an aim of leading his own WAFLW program.
Since joining the club’s female talent pathway in 2020, Scott has been a driving force in the growth and success of our programs. His vision, expertise, and unwavering commitment have been central to the creation and sustainability of our Talent Identification model and Academy Pathway Programs in conjunction with Dave Burton.
Through his efforts, countless young athletes have been given the chance to develop their skills, chase their dreams, and forge their own journey in football.
Scott’s achievements as Rogers Cup Coach are nothing short of remarkable. Under his leadership, the team secured an incredible three consecutive premierships, a feat that reflects not only his football knowledge but also his ability to inspire belief, resilience, and unity within his players. In addition, Scott was a key part of the 2021 premiership-winning campaign as an assistant coach, further cementing his place in West Perth’s history.
Beyond the results and silverware, Scott’s true legacy lies in the culture he helped foster. He has been a mentor, role model, and champion for female footballers within our community. His care for his players, his passion for their development, and his belief in their potential have left an indelible impact on the lives of many young women who have come through our programs.
West Perth Football Club Head of Female Football & Talent Pathways (Male), [Luke Richardson], said: “Scott has given so much of himself to our football club and to the next generation of female athletes. His coaching achievements are evident, but it is his leadership, character, and investment in people that will be remembered most. He has built a legacy that will inspire players, coaches, and the broader community for years to come.”
As Scott embarks on the next exciting chapter of his football journey, the West Perth Football Club expresses its deepest thanks and appreciation.
While we farewell him with immense gratitude, we also celebrate all that he has achieved and the lasting impact he has made on our club. Scott Kounis leaves behind a legacy of success, resilience, and opportunity — one that many will continue to chase in the years ahead.
