WEST PERTH FOOTBALL CLUB COACHING VACANCIES
APPLICATIONS are open for the positions of the Reserves Head coach and Skills Development Coach at the West Perth Football Club for the 2018 WAFL season.
The West Perth Football Club prides itself on the development and promotion of young footballers and a continued focus on personal development both on and off the field.
The West Perth Football Club is currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants for the above positions.
As the Reserves Head Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing the clubs Reserve side during the week and on matchdays. You will be required to work closely with Club’s Head Coach (Bill Monaghan) and other assistants within the senior program.
Your relationship with the Skills Development Coach will be vital in helping to identify opportunities for improvement in individual players and working with the player and Skills Development Coach to get the best outcome. Feedback and direct communication with players is critical to succeeding in this role.
You will also be encouraged to continue to develop all aspects of your coaching in a supportive, developing environment.
As the Skills Development Coach, you will predominately work with 18 – 21 year old players within the senior program. This role reports directly to the Football Operations Manager and Club’s Head Coach.
Your strong IT, organisational and time management skills with allow you to oversee the development and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDP’s) for these players.
This role acts as the key conduit between senior listed players playing in community football and the West Perth Football Club. As well as giving direct feedback, monitoring/updated IDP’s and watching vision with players, you will also gain an understanding of what players do outside of football and provide advice as needed.
Suitable applicants must possess:
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lead and influence.
- Understand talented athlete identification.
- Demonstrate structured and sequential planning within a football season.
- Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and strategies.
- Understanding of skill development learning strategies.
- Understanding of the Talent Pathway
- Minimum Level 2 Coach Accreditation
