FALCONS FLY HIGH WITH NEW WAFLW APPOINTMENT
The West Perth Football Club is delighted to announce Clint DEGEBRODT as their WAFLW Head Coach, signing a 2-year contract to steer our Women’s Program towards sustained success.
Clint was appointed interim Head Coach of our WAFLW program heading into May with a clear role to continue Stephen Hazell’s legacy and close-out the year.
Clint Degebrodt is an experienced football coach and operator with a career spanning 16 years in roles including 2 years as the Head Coach of the WA State 18 Youth Girls, almost 4 years as State Talent Manager – Female Programs with the WAFC and more recently employed by the West Coast Eagles as a Youth Engagement Coordinator.
Clint’s life before football was with the Department of Education as a Teacher and then Principal.
Clint was able to foster strong relationships with our WAFLW playing group in his Interim-stint and the West Perth Football Club board felt that the existing relationships Clint has formed partnered with his Football-acumen were the perfect mix to take our female football program forward.
CEO Joe McCarthy is confident that the club has made the best decision for the clubs’ developing playing group:
“Clint’s presentation to the board solidified our views that he truly is the right person for the job. His experience in coaching women in a high-performance environment means he is well equipped for the rigours of female football.
He’s an approachable, knowledgeable individual who will continue to drive our clubs’ values and standards into our growing program.”
Clint, or Deggers’ as he’s more affectionately known, had this to say about his appointment:
“I’m very happy to be in this role and to assist the West Perth Football Club to build their women’s program. To be able to continue to build on the short time I had with the group at the end of the 2023 season is exciting.
We have the foundations of a very good list and some great kids coming up through the Rogers Cup and industry-leading Moora Citrus Female Football Academy programs so the next few years are truly bright.
The club, staff and board are right behind the team and program, and we have great energy from the football department. We will be looking to make big gains and have an impact starting with our upcoming pre-season.”
Falcons members, join us in welcoming Deggers in full-capacity for 2024 and beyond.
