Falcons post strong profit result to relaunch for 2024.
The West Perth Football Club announced a strong financial profit result of $80,000 at its 137th AGM held this week.
Despite falling short of the finals for its senior men’s team, the club has progressed in all areas.
Club President Neale Fong stated, “We are proud of the success of the women’s program in 2023 with the Rogers Cup winning a second premiership in three years and the Reserves just falling short of a flag. We also unveiled a number of exciting debutantes who will form the base of our senior men’s team for many years to come”.
WAFL clubs work in every difficult environment and the financial turnaround at Joondalup continues with a healthy addition in 2023 to the club’s balance sheet.
“We are grateful for the ongoing support of our sponsors, some who have been with us for decades, and we continue to grow our support base in a very competitive environment”, said Fong.
Pentanet Stadium will have a major lighting overhaul funded by the state government for the start of the 2024 season making the venue attractive for night fixturing.
Tyler Keitel was inducted as life member after hitting the 150 game milestone and with three grand final appearances, a Breckler Medal, a Premiership and three Bernie Naylor Medals was a very worthy appointment.
Four retiring directors in Neale Fong, Jim Caffieri, Kate Vivian and Richard Cohen were re-elected unopposed giving a stable board for the coming year.
The club also announced a new initiative in the Emerging Directors Pool where younger interested people will be exposed to the running of the club through attendance at some board meetings and a board development program, Former vice captain and banker Blake Wilhelm is the first to sign up.
