WAFL League & Reserves Round 4 Match Report
A great start to a big day of football & festivities with our WAFLW getting an important 8-point win. The Reserves followed suit & the boys jumped out of the blocks with an impressive 1st quarter of football, Matt Shannon playing his first game for the club & kicking our first goal for the game only 2 minutes into the contest, followed by another 6 goals for the quarter to take a commanding lead of 45 points into the break. South Fremantle responded however we kept them at an arm’s length for the remainder of the game, if it wasn’t for inaccuracy in front of goals the margin would’ve been greater. Luke Meadows led the charge from an individual performance perspective with Matt Galjaardt continuing his consistent good form in the early part of the season, leading the goal scorers was Nate Dimanlig with three, Sandon Page & Tyson Moulton with two a piece, well done to all 23 players who took to the field on Sunday in the Reserves.
A slow start for the League team with South Fremantle kicking the first four goals of the game, we wrestled back some momentum in the 2nd quarter with three consecutive goals & headed into the main break 15 points down. A mistake riddled contest at times from both sides in the third quarter kept the game in the balance, four goals to one during red time in our favour kept the margin at 20 points at the final break & an upset against the reigning premiers was still within reach. Unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalise on some opportunities early in the last with South Fremantle kicking the only goal for the term at the 21-minute mark & walking away with a 30-point win. Connor West led the charge winning plenty of the ball along with laying five tackles, Kai Dehavilland showed he has what it takes at league level & Tyler Keitel continues to kick important goals with four in total for the game.
Congratulations to Koby Lecras on making his league debut, which happened to be on his 18th birthday, it was great to have his father Brent & Uncle, Mark in the rooms pre-game to present him with his jumper, #20. Thanks to Trish Medwin & Paola Zito for all the hard work in what looked to of been an enjoyable “Ladies Day” on Sunday, to all those that attended Tyler Keitel’s testimonial post-game, many thanks for being a part of honouring Tyler accordingly, & to Brett Raponi for coordinating such. It’s great to see our Reserves team sitting in the five, all be it only early in the season, a big challenge this Saturday against an undefeated Peel Thunder. Our League team continue to work hard for that allusive first win of the season, we will all but certainly see our club Captain Luke Meadows taking to the field this Saturday in the league of which we will be a big lift for the group, & one we hope which will provide that positive spark & fortune to get those 4 points.

City of Joondalup WAFLW Round 5 Match Report
Final Score -WP – 38 [5.8] SF -30 [4.6]
West Perth delivered a determined and hard-fought 38–30 victory over South Fremantle, built on resilience, consistency, and belief across all four quarters.
The Falcons set the tone early and refused to let go, leading at every break. The group’s relentless effort and ability to respond under pressure proved the difference, holding strong against a late South Fremantle surge.
The work rate around the ground was a standout, with West Perth finishing on top in disposals, kicks, and handballs a reflection of their intent to take the game on and support each other in every contest.
Zoe Huggett led the charge up forward with three goals, while Lunay Van Den Heever and Sara Riou contributed, rewarding the team’s forward pressure and repeat efforts.
Rikisha Nannup, Tahlee McVee, Ellee McEvoy, Maddison Dodd and Jessica Roper were outstanding, setting the standard with their intensity, composure, and willingness to compete.
A performance built on grit and connection and one that shows what this group is capable of when they back their effort for four quarters.

Delta Lithium Rogers Cup Round 5 Match Report
Final Score – WP – 16 [1.10] SF – 26 [4.2]
In a competitive contest against South Fremantle, the girls delivered consistent effort across all four quarters.
We created plenty of opportunities in front of goal, finishing with 11 scoring shots, however missed chances proved costly, with South Fremantle making the most of their opportunities to secure a 10-point win.
Vienna Matera was outstanding on return from State 16s, bringing speed and energy. Olivia Britten worked selflessly to link play and create opportunities, while Ava Millar earned Players’ Player for her work rate and ability to find space.
The group continues to build, and with improved execution in key moments, results will follow.
Marlee Resources Colts Round 4 Match Report
As the sun set on HIF Health Insurance Oval, it was the Falcons who were set to defend our dirt against the Bulldogs – Last years’ minor premiers and runners-up in the flag race on grand final day.
What started as a hot contest, the Bulldogs themselves showed their class with their work in at the mixers providing great education for our developing, younger lads who are in there perfecting their craft in 2026.
What didn’t aid the situation were the fact that the Bulldogs were able to kick 14 goals off turnover – We were simply unable to defend the ground consistently when we were handing the football back to them in some damaging positions – This put our backs under significant stress.
The response after half time, however – Was pleasing and something that our colts’ program will be focusing closely on – The behaviours, the effort and intent in those 2 quarters showcased that our younger side has a desire to work, desire to hunt and are proving themselves coachable.
We welcomed 4 x more debutants into the fold with Jordan Dorrington, Scott Stegmann, Max Gilly and Ashton Loller were awarded jumpers before the game after persistence and hard work earned them the right to wear the Red & Blue.
Hunter Bewick was awarded MVP honours after what was really a ‘captains game’ – Contest work was a highlight and his ability to help rally the troops very much a contributing factor to the sides’ shift in output in the second half.
Laith De Fraine, a developing forward and proud indigenous man was injected into the midfield brigade during the second half and provided an exciting layer to the mix – With a combination of contest strength, explosive leg speed – He provided a shining light for the sides performance as the night progressed.
Xavier Zuchetti the only multiple goal kicker (2), with Bradbury, French, Dorrington, Wain and Dwyer all contributing with 1 each.
Final score – WP 7.8 (50) def by SF 19.5 (119).
It’s a short, 5-day turn around for the colts with the team headed south to Mandurah for a Friday night match against Peel Thunder.
