WAFL League Round 16 Match Report

Unfortunately, an opportunity for our second win of the season slipped out of our hands, with our second consecutive close loss over the past fortnight, positive steps in terms of competing however we must find a way to turn these close losses into wins, which has become a trend within the League team over the past few seasons.

It was great to see Harvey Spawton-Guy recognised for his strong National U18’s carnival, with an opportunity to make his league debut, a highlight of the day was Harvey’s first goal at league level in the north/east pocket, in front of all his mates in the outer who were following Harvey all game long from end to end in the forward 50. Our usual suspects performed well, however for the years to come it’s been promising to see the likes of a Luke Michael in only his third game of league football, look right at home out on the park, along with Jayden Rigoll & Zac Sprigg who both had good days and are important players.

We look forward to challenging ourselves against a flag contender this Saturday at Revo Fitness Stadium, along with the Colts & Reserves getting back out on the park for important games in terms of ladder positions for there respective campaigns. We have plenty of work to do on & off the field, however it’s important over the last month or so of the football season we all remain calm & positive, so please keep on getting down and supporting the playing group in the true red & blue spirit, take care

West Perth Falcons 9.15 (69) defeated East Perth Royals 3.1 (19)
Sullivan Logistics Stadium

The West Perth Falcons claimed local derby honours with a dominant 50-point victory over East Perth away from home, producing a strong four-quarter performance in the team’s second-last game of the season.

The Falcons controlled the game with relentless pressure and clean ball movement, taking a commanding lead into quarter time before maintaining their intensity to run out convincing winners.

State 18s representatives Cara Dziegielewski and Lexi Strachan were outstanding, continuing their impressive form with class and composure. Irish recruit Ellee McEvoy played with plenty of energy and flair ahead of the upcoming Australia vs Ireland match, while Megan Norbury set the tone with her intent and work rate across all four quarters. Sophie Fisher continued her strong form, taking several impressive contested marks and providing a reliable target around the ground.

The Falcons are building strong momentum as they head into the final round of the home and away season. With just one game remaining, the group continues to play with confidence, connection and enjoyment, finishing the season strongly while embracing the opportunity to play their best football together.

Delta Lithium Rogers Cup Round 17 Match Report

West Perth 7.2 (44) def. East Perth 4.9 (33)

The West Perth Falcons produced a strong four-quarter performance to defeat East Perth by 11 points at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.

The Falcons set the tone early and maintained their intensity throughout the day, standing up when challenged and playing with great team-first intent to secure the win.

Alexis Henderson led the way with a standout performance, finishing with four goals and providing a constant target up forward. Mia Haast was relentless with her forward pressure and intent, while Indi Dickerson worked tirelessly across all four quarters. Issy Seivwright set the standard with her fierce tackling and ball pressure, and Ashlyn Hall impressed with her second efforts and continued attack on the football.

With one home-and-away game remaining, the Rogers Cup Falcons are determined to finish the season strongly. After a year focused on player development and providing opportunities for a youthful playing group, the continued growth, resilience and commitment shown by the team has been a positive reflection of the program and provides a strong foundation heading into the future.
