TODD CURLEY APPOINTED WEST PERTH SENIOR HEAD COACH

The West Perth Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Todd Curley as its next Senior Head Coach, marking an exciting new chapter for the Falcons.

Curley returns to a club with which he shares a deep personal connection, ready to lead an enthusiastic young playing group and build a football program grounded in high standards, development and pride in the West Perth jumper.

He brings extensive coaching experience across both WAFL and AFL football. As Senior Coach of South Fremantle from 2015 to 2024, Curley led the Bulldogs to the 2020 WAFL premiership and became the club’s longest-serving senior coach. His AFL experience includes two stints with the Fremantle Dockers, encompassing assistant coaching, opposition strategy and, most recently, midfield development.

For Curley, the opportunity to return to West Perth carries significant meaning.

“I’m really proud to be appointed the Head Coach of the West Perth Football Club, a place I have grown up with and have so many great relationships and memories. I can’t wait to get started, to get to work with the enthusiastic young group of players that are hungry to learn, and most importantly, improve their footy going forward”.

Club President Jimmy Caffieri said Curley’s appointment was an exciting moment for the entire West Perth community.

“Todd understands what West Perth means to its people. He shares our pride in the club and our determination to build a successful future,” Caffieri said.

“He brings proven premiership experience and valuable knowledge from the AFL environment. We are thrilled to welcome him home and look forward to seeing him bring our players, coaches and supporters together as we enter this next chapter.”

Interim CEO Luke Richardson said the appointment would provide clear direction for the club’s senior football program, with player development central to its progress.

“We have a young group with real ambition, and our responsibility is to create an environment that helps them turn that ambition into improvement,” Richardson said.

“Todd’s enthusiasm for working with this group is exciting. We want our players to be challenged, supported and clear on what is expected of them, with strong connections between our talent pathway and senior football program.

“This appointment is an important step forward. We’re looking forward to getting to work alongside Todd and building a program our people can be proud of.”

The West Perth Football Club warmly welcomes Todd and his family and looks forward to the journey ahead.
