WAFL Reserves Semi Final Match Report

Firstly, congratulations to the Colts squad & staff, whilst we fell short against a strong South Fremantle outfit, it was a positive season for the Colts program, which all should be proud of.

A slow start for the Reserves, with Perth jumping out the blocks kicking five goals to our one in the first term. A reset delivered by Aidan Lynch & his coaching group at the break, resulted in a second quarter of exciting football, with seven consecutive goals kicked, Matt Mckenzie & Jack Wooden kicking two goals each, along with Sandon Page, Ryan Gallen & Nate Dimanlig hitting the scoreboard. A strong second half team performance, with all 23 players once again stepping up when there moment came, nothing short of a true team brand of football from this group. Ben Fairbank stringing together solid consecutive games with a BOG performance, a character who is loved by his peers and feels right at home in his first season in the red & blue. Home grown talent in Matt Galjaardt, Max Connell, John Coleman & Jack Wooden all in our top tier of performers on the day, along with Matt Mckenzie who’s in his best form period for the club since joining us in season 2025.

Another strong contingent of Senior squad members, Colts squad members, & our die-hard supporters attended the game & got right behind the boys, which created a little 1% for the playing group. A great opportunity presents itself for the selected 23 this Sunday, taking on our arch enemy in East Perth, with a Grand Final opportunity awaiting if we get the win. To all our members & supporters, please don that red & blue, & get on down to Revo Fitness Stadium. This group is playing a great brand of football, & there’s no better way to spend a Sunday than to watch this emerging talent on display, good luck & get after it.
