The West Perth Football Club continues to lead the way in innovation and talent development, announcing a landmark collaboration with the Public Schools Association (PSA) that will see the Club’s Futures Satellite Team compete within the PSA competition from Term 2.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, this partnership represents a significant step forward in aligning community football pathways with school-based competitions—creating more meaningful opportunities for young athletes to develop, perform, and thrive.

This game-changing model has been carefully designed and executed through close collaboration between West Perth Football Club and the PSA, ensuring a shared vision centred on player development, accessibility, and long-term success.

Luke Richardson, General Manager Performance Pathways & Participation at West Perth Football Club, said the initiative reflects a progressive approach to nurturing emerging talent.

“This is a genuinely exciting step forward for our football program and the wider WA football landscape. By working closely with the PSA, we’re breaking new ground to create more opportunities for young players to access high-quality development environments.

This collaboration is built on a shared commitment to innovation and ensuring that more athletes are given the chance to realise their potential, regardless of their starting point.”

PSA Executive Officer Verity Keogh echoed the importance of the partnership and its broader impact.

“This initiative highlights what can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared purpose. Our collaboration with West Perth Football Club allows us to enhance the PSA competition while also supporting the growth and development of young footballers.

It’s about innovation, opportunity, and providing meaningful experiences that help students reach their full potential both on and off the field.”

The introduction of the Futures Satellite Team into the PSA competition is expected to deliver mutual benefits—strengthening the competitive environment while expanding access to elite-level coaching and development.

West Perth Football Club remains committed to evolving its pathways and programs, ensuring it continues to provide industry-leading opportunities for the next generation of footballers.
