ROUND 7 CLASH WITH CLAREMONT CONFIRMED FOR KULIN
The West Australian Football League has confirmed that Kulin will host the Round 7 League fixture between West Perth and Claremont as part of the State Government’s Country Sports Enrichment Scheme (CSES).
It will be the first WAFL game played in Kulin, which is 283km south-east of Perth. For more information about Kulin CLICK HERE
The game will be played at 2.15pm on Saturday, April 30 at Freebairn Recreational Centre and hosted by the Eastern Districts Football League and West Perth Football Club.
WAFL Manager Cameron Knapton said the WAFL was committed to continuing games in regional areas as part of the CSES and thanked the Department of Sport and Recreation, State Government and Sports Minister Mia Davies for their outstanding support.
“With their support, we can provide a great opportunity for regional fans to see a WAFL game in their own backyard,” Knapton said.
“It is also a great opportunity for our WAFL clubs to continue connecting with their regions. A significant amount of talent comes from country WA and we must keep engaging with these communities.”
There have been 51 WAFL games played with CSES funding since the scheme commenced in 1999 and over $1.1million contributed to the program during that time.
Overall, 69 WAFL games have been played in country WA since 1984, providing 21 years of consecutive service to regional WA.
