Teddy Steps Away
Teddy Steps Away
Increased work commitments and the demands of WAFL League football have seen Liam Tedesco step away from football for the remainder of the 2021 season. Geoff Valentine said, “We’ll miss Teddy’s strength and class around the contest but the show goes on and someone will step into that position. We’ll roll out 22 players this week and know we’ll perform well as a team. Playing WAFL football is a tough gig and getting the right balance in your life with work, study & family is very important. We’ll continue to support Liam and are optimistic that he hasn’t played his last game in the Red and the Blue.”
General Manager of Football Steve Trewhella has praised Liam for his dedication and commitment to the Club over the past four seasons. “Liam is a local product and was recruited from the Wanneroo FC prior to the 2018 season and made his league debut that same year. Since then, Liam has worked his way through several setbacks including some significant injuries to become a regular League Footballer and a key member of the midfield. Liam is a popular member of the senior team and held in very high regard by his coaches, peers and everyone involved at the Club. He was a key member of the Club’s 2019 Reserves Premiership Team and during his 20 league games and 24 reserves games produced some outstanding football. Should Liam want to make a return to WAFL football he will always be welcome back at West Perth but for now we thank Liam for his contribution to the Club and we wish him well for his immediate future”.
