Geoff Valentine appointed to the Fremantle Dockers Coaching Team.
Geoff Valentine appointed to the Fremantle Dockers Coaching Team.
Senior Coach Geoff Valentine will depart the West Perth FC to take up a full-time role with the
Fremantle Dockers that will include coaching the Peel Thunder FC for season 2022 and beyond.
Valentine who has led the Falcons for the past three seasons has done an outstanding job in all
aspects since joining the Falcons and goes to the next level with our Club’s full blessing.
Club President Dr Neale Fong commented, “It’s a terrific opportunity for Geoff and it’s a great
reflection on his performance as well as a great reflection on the West Perth FC that we continue to
provide a pathway for not just players, but also a pathway for coaches and administrators to
progress their personal careers at AFL level.
“The Board and administration has already commenced a process for the search and appointment of
our next Senior Coach who will be able to build on the foundations that Geoff has put in place as we
strive for our 20 th League Premiership”.
Geoff has met with the player group this evening at the Club to personally inform them of his
opportunity and his move to the Fremantle Dockers.
Valentine came to the Club in a challenging time and from the beginning he went about building
strong relationships with all the players, the coaches, the volunteers and everyone at the Club. Geoff
has transformed the Club and created a real place of belonging for everyone including families and
supporters and has successfully coached the Club to finals in each of his three years at the helm.
Geoff is and will always be a West Perth person. Geoff, his wonderful wife Vinny and daughters,
Rhani, Talietha & Lemarna will always be welcome at our Club anytime and we wish Geoff and his
family all the very best for their future.
