Shane Nelson Testimonial Fund
Shane Nelson will become just the 23rd player in the Clubs history to notch up his 200th appearance for West Perth later this year and in honour of this extraordinary achievement the Club has setup a testimonial fund that you can donate too. Barring injury it is estimated Shane will reach his milestone in our Round 13 fixture later this season.
Shane Nelson has been and continues to be one of the premier midfielders at West Perth and indeed the WAFL competition. An elite clearance player with reflexes like a cat Shane made his League debut for the Club back in 2012 after winning the Colts Fairest & Best (Dominish Medal) in 2010 and playing in the State 18s in 2011.
His contribution to the Club since his arrival from local junior club Edgewater-Woodvale JFC has been exceptional. He was awarded the “Rising Star” in 2012 before taking out his first Breckler Medal (tying with Andrew Strijk) in just his second year of League football in 2013 to go along with a Premiership that same year. He has in total won four Breckler Medals to date (2013, 2014, 2017 & 2020), finished Runner-up in 2018 and has two other top 5 finishes in 2012 & 2021. Shane also has a terrific record in State football representing Western Australia on 5 occasions (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019).
