Anton Hamp has announced his retirement from the game after his stellar season with the Falcons that culminated in a premiership medal for the veteran. Anton was one of just six players that played every game this season for the Falcons taking his career tally to 183 games after playing 163 with the Claremont FC. The 30-year-old couldn’t have scripted a better way to end his 12-year WAFL career on a high winning the Club its 20th Premiership against his former side.
GM of Football Operations, Steve Trewhella stated the importance of having Anton in the side this year. “Anton bought experience as well as a skillset that was critical for our team to execute a winning game plan. His leadership and professionalism since he arrived has been first class. He is exactly the character that you want at your football club and this Club will be forever grateful for his contribution. Now that he is a premiership player, Anton will always be connected by red and blue and we wish Anton and his partner Emma all the very best for their future.
