Season Launch 2023
Season Launch 2023
Saturday night was a special for many of our players and their families. It was the official season launch and was conducted in conjunction with the seniors jumper presentation and followed by the player auction.
Over 200 members, sponsors and supporters packed the club room where for the first time the Club conducted a formal presentation. Ther meal was provided by Rimondo’s and evening was ably led by SEN’s Jimmy Williams.
President Neale Fong and Senior Coach Darren Harris all spoke with passion and humbleness. They gave those in attendance an insight into preseason and the year ahead.
Past players were in attendance and included in the evening. Among them were Brent Le Cras, Callum Chambers, Brendan Logan, Kris Shannon and Dean Brunton all presented jumpers. It was a particularly special moment for 1995 premiership player Dean Brunton and his wife Leyla as Dean presented his first senior jumper to son Sam.
After each player received their jumper, an interview was conducted with one member from each lot. There was a bit of humor and insight into what is driving these men. Fierce bidding followed as there were only 8 lots. Group 6 – Aidan Lynch, Tristian Hobley, Kellen Johnson, Koopah Todd, Ryan Hudson, Tyler Keitel, Rowan Garlett and Zan Robbis attracted the highest bid of the night. $5500 a terrific result.
The club raised more than $32 000. Half will be used as the winning pool and the other half will go towards facility improvements. The comradeship and feel amongst all those that attended suggested the Club has a strong culture and place of belonging.
