Head of Medical Returns for 2025 – 8 Seasons and counting for our man!
Brendan Aitkins, of Wanneroo Physiotherapy has spent the last 7 seasons providing the highest level of medical care for our clubs’ female athletes.
In a further exciting development for Female Football at the West Perth Football Club, Brendan has committed to 2025, where we will continue to drive a level of medical standards that has seen us with a consistently healthy list for our coaches to select from.
Brendan’s influence on our programs rise to a ‘competition-believer’ should not go unnoticed, with his ability to work closely with all our football staff in the sharing of information, driving of expectations and building of belief as seen as integral to our culture.
Heading into his 8th season with the Female Football program, the club will too also name its Female Football Medical room after him – A small token of appreciation to give thanks to Brendan for his contributions and to recognise the sacrifices he and his family have made to be regular contributors of our great football club.
Head of Female Football & Talent Pathways (Male), Luke Richardson, had this to say about Brendan’s extension:
“When Brendan called me and explained his desire to go around again – I was over the moon to be honest. I’m a firm believer that irrelevant of the coaching staff you have supporting the players, it’s the combination of strong and professional Medical, High Performance and Well-being departments which ensure players are able to perform each and every week.
One of the first things I did when starting in this role over 3 years ago was re-sign Brendan and the Wanneroo physiotherapy team long-term. I have worked closely with Brendan as Head of Medical for 3 years now and I believe there is no one better supporting athletes in the WAFLW space right now than Brendan and the team of sports trainers and staff he leads.”
