KEY PILLARS FOR SUCCESS RETURN – FEMALE FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT STRUCTURE CONFIRMED

Thursday, October 31, 2024 - 2:54 PM

Our club is pleased to announce to its members, fans and supporters of the finalised football department structures for our Female Football Programs in 2025.

Our WAFLW side will see all it’s 2024 coaching panel return with all members recommitting for 2025. Led by our Senior Coach in Clint Degebrodt, who enters his second full-season at the helm, has worked closely with Head of Female Football & Talent Pathways (Luke Richardson) to adopt a more modern approach to coaching in 2025, with a look at ‘phases’ on the cards rather than ‘lines’.

Senior Coach – Clint Degebrodt
Senior Assistant Coach | Opposition Analysis & Tactics – Jason Bloom
Falcons Ball Performance Coach (Forwards) – Tori Audino
Falcons Ball & Skill Acquisition Coach (Forwards) – Carly Sutton
Oppo Ball Performance Coach (Backs) – Kristen Nelson
Oppo Ball & Skill Acquisition Coach (Backs) – Donna Field
Contested Ball Performance Coach (Mids) – Louise McBride
Contested Ball & Skill Acquisition Coach (Mids) – Paul Beaver

“I’m really pleased to see all our fantastic people return to the football club. Deggers’ experience and connection within the footballing community meant we could bring together a formidable group of competent educators to take our WAFLW group forward.

Shifting to ‘phases’ rather than traditional ‘lines’ has been an exciting pivot. Our coaches have been hard at work this off-season clearly defining expectations within these phases and how to nest “teach, not test”, as we say, with our players over this period.

We are confident in our groups’ ability to thrive and continue to be in the improvement business.” Richardson said.

Our highly successful Rogers Cup program will see some change after an unprecedented period. Scott Kounis returns as Senior Coach and is more charged than ever to develop these players into long-term footballers for the West Perth Football Club surrounded by a great group of coaches for 2025.

Along with Scott returning, Premiership Coaches Fiona Boucher and Hannah Philip also return to lend their expertise and connection pieces to our Premiership Model and development pathway for 2025.

We welcome in a NEW face to the coaching fold for the 2025 Rogers Cup team with Damien Mullen joining and adds immense value to an already talented group. Having spent time coaching both junior girls and boys, and amateur women and men (Ocean Ridge AFC) as a senior coach we truly believe Mullo’s appointment will help us to continue to speed up the development of our youth.

Lea Caccamo, 2023 Rogers Cup Premiership Coach (Backs) also returns in what is a further exciting addition to the group. An established player and mature-head, our players learnt a mountain of content under tutelage in 2023 and we’re happy to see Lea return in 2025.

Richardson had this to say about the Rogers Cup coaching team for 2025:

“Firstly I want to extend the greatest of thanks to departing duo in Brett Foster and Damon Brimson who were significant stalwarts of our Rogers Cup program for 3 seasons. Their contributions will forever be cherished here at the West Perth Football Club.

We are proud to present this group of talented and competent educators to our members for 2025.

We understand the importance of developing our youth into not just draftable prospects but into long-term WAFLW League players for our football club and this motivator will continue to be at the forefront of our decision making for this program moving forward.

We too must thank Dave Burton and the incredible team of coaches overseeing our Moora Citrus Female Football Program. This Academy and pathway is helping our club produce Rogers Cup-ready athletes at the commencement of Rogers Cup pre-season. These players are ready for the rigours of Rogers Cup Football from the moment they arrive. The importance of this pathway program should not go unnoticed.”

Bring on 2025.
