FALCONS FAMILY FUN DAY A RAGING SUCCESS
MORE than 1000 West Perth fans, members and sponsors attended the Falcons Family Fun Day on Sunday at Joondalup's HBF Arena and the success of the event means that it will now only be built on in coming years.
The Family Fun Day idea came about as a direct result of feedback from our members and it proved a terrific success.
The event incorporated the season launch, Corporate Classic, jumper presentation, a kids zone, Channel 9 social media tent and a tremendously popular mascot race.
All junior clubs in the West Perth Districts were involved with the Auskick participants presenting the West Perth senior and colts players with the jumpers, and receiving a football in return.
The event was sponsored by the club's newest major partner The Sunday Times and PerthNow while Channel 9 also provided terrific support with reporter, and former Subiaco WAFL player and ABC commentator, Michael Genovese doing an outstanding job as the master of ceremonies.
Channel 9 was also the sponsor of the social media tent which proved a popular destination throughout the afternoon.
Perhaps the most popular event of the day was the mascot race which was won by the Quinns Bull and in victory he was able to beat Johnny the Doc, Rick the Rock, Freddie Falcon and Suzie Socket (to Sarcoma).
The best part of the event, though, was providing the players, coaches and staff of the West Perth Football Club to interact and mingle with the great supporters, members and sponsors of the Falcons.
The entire West Perth playing squad was rotated throughout the various events on the afternoon to mix with the fans in attendance.
The Falcons Family Fun Day is another great example of the West Perth Football Club and Districts working together with the help of the wonderful sponsors to develop and promote Australian Football in the northern suburbs and particularly the cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo.
