NINE PERTH ASSIGNS VARIETY LOGO TO FALCONS JUMPER FOR TV GAMES
NINE Perth announced today resolution has been reached and that the broadcast games featuring West Perth for the remainder of the 2015 WAFL season and for 2016 will feature the logo of Variety – The Children’s Charity.
The Nine News logo will remain on the West Perth jumpers for all other matches not being broadcast on television.
Nine Perth Managing Director David Mott said he was pleased a suitable resolution had been reached."Our commitment to the West Perth Football Club and to grass roots football will continue. We are delighted to make the jumpers available to Variety – the Children’s Charity. This outcome will benefit many Western Australian children in need," Mott said.
"Variety is an outstanding organisation that does valuable and much-needed work with children in need. Not only will Variety receive logo recognition, they will receive a cash donation of $25,000 from the WA Football Commission.
"I wish to thank WAFC Chairman, Murray McHenry, for committing $25,000 to Variety as part of this arrangement."
West Perth Football Club President Brett Raponi was pleased that a resolution was found in the best interests of all involved parties.
"This is a magnanimous gesture by Nine Perth and shows the class of its people and the organisation," Raponi said.
"Nine’s standing within the Western Australian community has been further enhanced and West Perth are proud to have them as our major partner.
"Even in light of this situation and through no fault of Channel Nine, they will remain our major sponsor and continue to support grass roots football in the northern corridor."
