Vale Leith Kelly
Author: West Perth FC
The West Perth Football Club is deeply saddened to acknowledge the passing of Leith Kelly, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25.
Leith was the beloved wife of former Premiership player and Board Director Ross Kelly, and together they shared an extraordinary partnership in both football and life for more than 60 years. Their enduring commitment to each other and to the game made them an integral part of the fabric of our club and the wider football community.
In a fitting reflection of their lifelong dedication, Leith and Ross were honoured as the first-ever couple to be named patrons of a WAFL club — a testament to their shared passion, service, and unwavering support.
Ross’s remarkable contribution to football includes his recent role as Vice President of the West Perth Football Club, as well as his service as a WA Football Commission, Commissioner and inaugural Chairman of the Fremantle Dockers. Throughout this journey, Leith stood proudly by his side, offering quiet strength, encouragement, and an enduring love for the game and its people.
Leith will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, whose warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her connection to West Perth FC spanned many decades, and her presence at the club will be deeply missed.
On behalf of the West Perth Football Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ross, their family, and all who had the privilege of knowing Leith.
She will be sorely missed.
The Funeral will be held on Thursday May 14th 10.00am at Karrakatta Cemetery.
