IN THEIR WORDS – TYLER KEITEL ROUND 15

Thursday, June 29, 2017 - 9:12 AM by Tyler Keitel

AFTER a stellar performance by Blake 'Wish I was Ras' Wilhelm in the last player column, it was always going to be a tough ask to produce the same quality this week … although I will give it a shot.

In recapping last week’s disappointing loss to Claremont, it was a game the boys really set themselves for knowing the outcome could set us up leading into the second half of the season, although we simply left it all a little late.

Our inability to capitalise from shots on goal in the last quarter from a number of players (myself included) was detrimental and did not allow us to come out on top when the final siren sounded. Overall it was a performance that the playing group is not proud of and will look to improve on in the coming weeks.

However, the reserves produced an impressive performance running out winners by 84 points. It is always a fantastic environment in the stands as the boys playing league football watch on with interest in to what will no doubt be the future of the West Perth Football Club.

It was fantastic to see the emphatic result was led by some young stars of the West Perth Football Club with Conal 'Ennis' Lynch possibly playing his best game for the year. Mitch 'Silk' Antonio was as dangerous as always up forward with four goals and Riley 'probably won’t read this' Hutchinson rock solid down back, showing everyone how important he could be coming in to the back end of the year.

I know from the feeling around the club this week that the boys are looking forward to the opportunity to bounce back against the Subiaco Football Club and produce a committed performance to allow us to get back in the winner’s circle.

It is a massive day for the club this week as it hosts our International Round fixture, which is fast becoming one of the biggest days on the WAFL calendar with a massive turn out and fantastic environment always a given.

Hope to see you at HBF Arena on Saturday.
