Claremont 12.8 (80) defeated West Perth 1.6 (12)
It wasn’t the result the Falcons were chasing, with Claremont proving too strong, but there were still plenty of moments that reflected the character and determination of this playing group.
Leading the way for the Falcons was Kayla Van Den Heever, whose fierce attack on the football and relentless pressure set the standard throughout the day. Hannah Power battled hard from the first bounce to the final siren, competing strongly and refusing to give in. Across the wing, Megan Norburyprovided pace and run, consistently creating overlap and opening the game up to allow the Falcons to play their brand of football. Sophie Fisher showed tremendous courage, putting her body on the line and competing fiercely in every contest, while Hayley Bidefeld was rewarded for her persistence with the Falcons’ only goal, competing strongly to provide a target in attack.
Falcons will take the lessons from this match, continue to grow together, and remain committed to the standards and resilience that define the club. Every challenge is another opportunity to improve, and this group will be ready to respond.

Claremont 7.8(50) defeated West Perth 7.6 (48)
The Falcons fell just short in a thrilling contest, with Claremont edging out West Perth by just two points in a game that went right down to the final siren. The young Falcons showed outstanding grit and determination, refusing to back down as they fought their way back into the contest and challenged until the very end.
A crucial moment came when captain Hayley Mann slotted a goal that lifted the side and sparked the Falcons’ momentum, inspiring the group to keep attacking the game with belief and energy.
Leading the Falcons’ best players was Ava Millar, whose strong work rate and competitiveness set the tone throughout the day. Ella Molloy-Broughton provided composure around the contest and used the ball well under pressure. Zenniah Albonetti brought relentless pressure and intensity, creating opportunities for her teammates and deserving goal, while Indi Scott covered the ground tirelessly, providing drive and support across all areas of the field. Alexis Henderson was a constant threat in attack, working hard to create scoring opportunities and impacting the contest with her presence inside forward 50.
The Falcons will take plenty of confidence from their performance and continue to build belief as they prepare for the next challenge together.
