West Perth's lead grew at every change during the dominant performance at HBF Arena on Saturday and then really rammed home the advantage in the last quarter to end up winning 22.9 (141) to 9.8 (62).

The win is West Perth's second on the trot following the season opening loss to South Fremantle and gives the Falcons plenty of momentum to take into the clash with Subiaco this Saturday at Medibank Stadium.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP AT WEST PERTH MEANS EVERYTHING TO STRIJK

Friday, April 3, 2015 - 2:02 PM - by Chris Pike

ANDREW Strijk's heart has always been with West Perth either side of his time with West Coast, and during, and now he is rewarded for his outstanding service by earning life membership reaching his 150th match on Saturday against Perth at HBF Arena.

Strijk has put together an outstanding WAFL career with West Perth since making his league debut in 2006 along the way representing Western Australia on three occasions and then the highlight came right throughout 2013 when not only did he play in the Falcons' premiership but he was the fairest and best winner on top of it.

The now 27-year-old spent three years with West Coast and played 13 AFL matches, but even when with the Eagles he still played 10 WAFL games in 2010 with West Perth, 19 in 2011 and 14 in 2012 before then returning to the Falcons full-time ahead of the 2013 season.

Monday, March 30, 2015 - 1:48 PM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth had a lot working against it heading into Saturday's home opener against Peel Thunder at HBF Arena but in the end the Falcons held on for an inspired seven-point victory against a side featuring 16 players on the Fremantle Dockers list.

West Perth was coming into the contest following a 35-point season-opening loss to South Fremantle last Friday night at Fremantle Oval and from that contest lost premiership utility Jordan Jones to a torn hamstring.

However, coach Bill Monaghan made some changes to the team making some big calls dropping premiership players Marc Crisp and Ray Bartholomew to give an opportunity to Matt Johnson and Kris Shannon with Matt Fowler the other change coming in for the injured Jones.

IN THEIR WORDS – CHRIS KEUNEN ROUND 2

Friday, March 27, 2015 - 10:06 PM - by Chris Keunen

WELCOME to season 2015 to all Falcons members and supporters. It was a bitter sweet start to the season last Friday night against South Fremantle at Fremantle Oval.

Personally I was very proud to play my 150th league game for West Perth. It was certainly something that I never expected to achieve, but it was very disappointing to lose the game and in particular not be able to execute what was discussed during the week.

After missing out on playing the final game of the season last year, I set my sights a focus of pre-season on Round 1. Getting to the game last year and then driving home without leaving the car was not a good way to finish a year,  not only did I miss my 150th but to have also missed playing with Slick and Dan for their last game with the club.

ROUND 2 PREVIEW V PEEL THUNDER

Friday, March 27, 2015 - 3:05 PM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth had a tough start to its 2015 season losing to South Fremantle last Friday night and now the challenge is ahead of the Falcons this Saturday in their home opener against Peel Thunder at HBF Arena.

West Perth came into the 2015 season with high hopes of a rejuvenated year after a disappointing 2014 following the 2013 premiership, but the result was a 35-point loss to South Fremantle at Fremantle Oval under lights on Friday night.

Not only did the Falcons lose the match, but the way they used the ball in particular was disappointing for coach Bill Monaghan and those in attendance, and then on top of it they lost premiership star Jordan Jones to a hamstring injury as well.
