FALCONS MAKE IT FOUR STRAIGHT WITH WIN OVER SHARKS

Monday, May 8, 2017 - 11:57 PM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth's winning form continued at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday with the Falcons scoring a fourth straight victory to move clear in fourth position on the WAFL ladder with the bye this week.

West Perth came into the clash at East Fremantle Oval on the back of a three-game winning streak since a 103-point loss to South Fremantle, so they had plenty of momentum up against the winless Sharks.

But East Fremantle had been competitive and been in the contest the previous three weeks against Perth, Swan Districts and South Fremantle, and also had the added motivation with the 150th game of loyal servant Andrew Stephen to try and win for as he earned life membership of the club.

Friday, May 5, 2017 - 5:39 PM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth is on a three-game winning streak and can close in on a top-three WAFL position with a win against the undefeated East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

East Fremantle has extra incentive to try and win its first game of the season this Saturday at home to West Perth, but toppling a Falcons team on a three-game appears a big ask.

The Sharks remain the only winless team in the WAFL after seven rounds heading into Saturday's clash with West Perth at East Fremantle Oval.

BILL GETS GRILLED – BILL MONAGHAN ROUND 7 Q & A

Friday, May 5, 2017 - 7:15 AM - by Matt Barnsley

WEST Perth's longest-serving coach Bill Monaghan talks about Saturday's win over Perth including the efforts of Rudy Riddoch, Jay van Berlo's 150th game and plenty more ahead of this Saturday's clash with East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval.

QUESTION: What are your reactions to a pretty hard earned win over Perth?
ANSWER: It’s a really hard one to judge, I’m fairly critical of what we did, but in the end we won. I talked to the players about respecting the opposition and making sure that they play the game to the full. Maybe I had different expectations, 15.19 isn’t a bad day at the office in terms of getting the ball forward and shooting on goal, but we’ve got some work to do. Perth, I’ve watched them two or three times and they’ve played similar to that where they’ve stayed with opposition, but just get blown away in little patches. I thought it was ugly, it was frustrating, but at the end of the day we win by 19 points by kicking 15.19. We have to take the good with the bad.
