FALCONS FLY HOME TO BEAT TIGERS IN BLACK'S 100TH
WEST Perth stormed home to kick the only five goals of the last quarter to beat Claremont by 10 points at HBF Arena on Saturday to remain in second spot on the WAFL ladder and all but secure a finals position in 2015.
Claremont kicked the first two goals of the game and led for the majority of the afternoon, including by 21 points at three quarter-time, but West Perth finished full of running kicking the only five goals of the last term to end up winning 13.12 (90) to 12.8 (80).
The win means that West Perth remains unbeaten after eight games at HBF Arena so far this season and also improves the Falcons to 10-5 record to remain solid in second position on the ladder with five games remaining in 2015.
ROUND 18 PREVIEW V CLAREMONT
WEST Perth returns to HBF Arena this Saturday not only to celebrate Sandover Medallist and premiership player Aaron Black's 100th game for the Falcons, but needing to beat Claremont to remain in second position on the WAFL ladder.
West Perth has won all seven of its games at HBF Arena so far this year as well and a win on Saturday for the Falcons will see them all but secure a place in the finals for 2015, and to consolidate second position on the ladder with five rounds of the season remaining.
BLACK'S 100TH GAME ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE IN YOUNG CAREER
HAVING already played in a premiership, played State football and won a Sandover Medal, Aaron Black has crammed a career full of achievements into his first 99 games, but the West Perth midfielder is far from content as he prepares for his 100th match at just 22 years of age.
Black made his debut back in Round 16, 2010 and has come a long way from the small, tagging midfielder on that cold and wet night at Fremantle Oval as he played in a heavy West Perth defeat.
He has barely missed a match ever since making his debut as a 17-year-old and now ever since has put together a remarkable career that he deserves a lot of credit for with the hard work and dedication he has put in to continue improve his football in all areas.

THE SUNDAY TIMES PRESENTS KIDS ZONE THIS SATURDAY
THIS Saturday's clash with Claremont at HBF Arena is already a massive occasion with West Perth needing to win to stay in second spot and Aaron Black celebrating his 100th WAFL match, but the Falcons' major partner The Sunday Times will also be bringing a special Kids Zone for the day.
The Sunday Times are proud major partners of the West Perth Football Club as of this year joining the City of Joondalup, Lakeside Joondalup and Channel 9 Perth as the Falcons' biggest supporters.
As a result, The Sunday Times will be providing a special Kids Zone at HBF Arena this Saturday as the official match day partner when the Falcons take on the Tigers with West Perth needing to win to stay second on the WAFL ladder, and Claremont looking to move back into the top five.
BILL GETS GRILLED – BILL MONAGHAN ROUND 17 Q & A
WEST Perth premiership coach Bill Monaghan will be conducting a weekly question and answer segment for the club's website. Here he discusses last Saturday's loss to Swan Districts, provides an injury update, talks about Aaron Black's 100th game and playing Claremont and Kepler Bradley on Saturday.
FALCONS LOSE TO SWANS IN THRILLER AFTER LEADING ALL DAY
WEST Perth led just about all afternoon until Swan Districts kicked the final two goals to win by two points at Steel Blue Oval and end the Falcons' four-game winning run on Saturday.
West Perth came into the game on the back of wins against South Fremantle, East Perth, Subiaco and Perth to be solid in second position on the WAFL ladder.
The Falcons did come into the clash with Swans without premiership players Matt Guadagnin, Jordan Jones, Rohan Kerr, Luke Tedesco and Andrew Strijk, so the depth was being tested but stood up to the challenge for most of the day at Bassendean.
West Perth kicked the first two goals of the game and maintained an advantage around that margin for most of the afternoon until Swan Districts got the last two goals to end up winning 9.11 (65) to 8.15 (63).
ROUND 17 PREVIEW V SWAN DISTRICTS
WEST Perth heads to Steel Blue Oval on Saturday to take on Swan Districts looking for a fifth straight WAFL victory to further consolidate second position on the ladder.
Clashes between Swan Districts and West Perth never fail to deliver some of the most exciting contests of any WAFL season, and this Saturday's contest should be no different.
A win for the Falcons would see them remain at least one game and percentage clear in second spot, and possibly two games clear of the rest of the competition if Claremont beats Peel Thunder.
Swan Districts, meanwhile, is clinging to fifth position despite having the bye last weekend on the back of a narrow win over East Perth and a tight loss to South Fremantle.
